The Values Game is de Engelstalige versie van het Waarden- en Normenspel.

The purpose of this game is to help you discuss values and group norms. By doing so, you will not only become more aware of your own values, but you will also become more appreciative of other people's perspectives. The Values Game consists of 140 cards, divided into three groups:

Values. A value is something that you find important to aspire to and that directs your actions. Examples include: liberty, responsibility and honesty.

Subjects. These are used to make the discussion about values more focused on a specific area. Examples include: relationships, education, social media and politics.

Group norms. These are the rules that dictate what kind of behaviour is good or bad, wanted or unwanted, allowed or forbidden in groups and teams. For example: 'you must be available at all times' and 'all topics can be discussed'.

Applications include:
∗ Becoming aware of your most important values
∗ Team building sessions
∗ Discussing the values of an organisation
∗ Discussing and changing group norms
∗ Career planning
∗ Individual coaching

The game includes instructions for four methods of play. These instructions are also available for download at www.kwaliteitenspel.nl/en.

For professional users (trainers, coaches, managers, teachers and consultants), the authors have also developed 'The Values Games Manual'. This manual contains instructions for 20 methods of play along with additional theory, questions and exercises. The manual can be purchased on the authors' website: www.kwaliteitenspel.nl/en.
